Join renowned DC artist and Art Enables' board member Steven Cushner for an evening with Art Enables' newest exhibition, "Medusa & Perseus: a Retelling."
Exclusively for the event, Cushner has created 25 original woodcuts. As admission into the event guests will purchase one of these original pieces of Cushner's work. All of the proceeds from the sale of these limited edition works will benefit Art Enables.
This is a unique opportunity to purchase one of Steven’s signed original woodcuts, visit the studio and gallery, and receive a private tour of the gallery and current exhibitions. Tony Brunswick (Executive Director of Art Enables), Marissa Long (Gallery Manager & Curator), Toni Lane (Studio Art Coordinator), and exhibiting artists will be present to share more about the exhibition, their vision, and Art Enables.
Each original Steven Cushner woodcut is $200 and your purchase will gain entry for yourself and a guest. There are only 25 tickets available for this event. To purchase your original woodcut and gain entry, follow the purchase tickets instructions on this page.
Steven Cushner has lived and worked in Washington DC, since 1978. Cushner addresses the objects and shapes that surround us in everyday life - clouds in the sky, a leaf on the ground, eddies in a stream, a walk in the woods, a child’s toy, taking the premise of that object and turning it into a meditation on the object itself. His paintings, works on paper, and woodcuts convey a unique visual language rich in a vocabulary of pattern, color, symmetry, and repetition.
Art Enables is an art gallery and vocational arts program dedicated to creating opportunities for artists with disabilities to make, market, and earn income from their original and compelling artwork.
