BlackHair is Marvin Bowser’s photography exhibit that uplifts and celebrates Black culture through the lens of black hair. The collection talks to “black joy, love, beauty, strength, resilience, expression, and fantasy.” The collection is currently on display on the 400 block of K Street NW and Prather’s Alley. The Afro-futuristic looks in BlackHair were created in collaboration with hair artist Melanee Williams, make-up artist/wardrobe stylist Travon Greene, and contemporary African jewelry designer Grace Yeboah Ofori. Learn more about Marvin’s work at www.marvinbowser.photography. Support for this exhibit provided to Mount Vernon Triangle by the DC Office of Planning’s Streets for People Grant Program.
