Congratulations to HEMPHILL artist, Amy Schissel, on her Oolite Arts 2026 Creator Award.
The Ellie Creator Awards support South Florida’s remarkable artists whose work strengthens our creative community and shapes the future of the arts. With $10,000 of unrestricted funding the grants are not tied to specific projects and can be applied in any way that supports individual artistic practice.
Through an expanded drawing practice, Schissel investigates how physical space is increasingly informational, permeated by continuous data flows. Researching AI, AR, and cartographic methods, the artist explores hidden geospatial narratives and emergent social cartographies.
